Digitalisation with AI: From PDF schematic to editable EPLAN Project.

Our in-house developed AI converts PDF schematics into fully editable EPLAN Electric P8 projects - with recognised IEC symbols, BMK and texts. Faster than manual tracing, scalable to thousands of pages and economical even with large documentation inventories.

For companies with extensive as-built documentation - and for switchgear manufacturers, engineering offices and service providers with EPLAN expertise who regularly process their customers' paper or PDF documents.

Send us 10 to 20 representative PDF pages - you will receive a non-binding assessment of feasibility, degree of automation and implementation time frame.

Making inventory documentation editable again

Whether it's an old system takeover, modernisation project or control cabinet renewal: In many projects, schematics are only available as paper or PDF files. Before the actual work can begin - expansion, conversion, modernisation - existing plans first have to be redrawn manually in EPLAN. This costs days, sometimes weeks of unproductive preparatory work.

SchematicVision takes care of this step: Our AI automatically converts PDF schematic pages into editable EPLAN Electric P8 projects - including IEC symbol recognition, BMK and the existing texts. This allows you to start the actual engineering work straight away.

Why companies rely on SchematicVision

AI-enabled speed

SchematicVision GmbH's proprietary AI digitises schematic pages many times faster than manual tracing. Projects with hundreds or thousands of pages are digitised in a fraction of the usual time.

Fully editable EPLAN project

The result is not a static file, but a fully-fledged EPLAN Electric P8 project with recognised IEC symbols, symbol naming and connection logic - ready for immediate further processing.

Economical even with large volumes

The AI's high degree of automation significantly reduces the costs per page. This makes the digitisation of large volumes of documentation economically viable for the first time - even with thousands of pages.

Integration into your base project

On request, the digitised pages can be integrated directly into your existing EPLAN base project - with a coordinated plot frame and your company-specific standards.

From the enquiry to the finished EPLAN project

STEP 01

Submit PDF documents

Send us 10 to 20 representative PDF schematic pages via the contact form. On this basis, we will evaluate the scan quality, degree of automation and scope of the project - and prepare a sound initial assessment.

STEP 02

AI digitalisation and quality assurance

Our AI recognises IEC symbols, texts, labels and wiring and generates an EPLAN Electric P8 project from them. Each project undergoes an internal quality check before it is handed over.

STEP 03

Handover as EPLAN project backup

You receive an EPLAN project backup (*.zw1) - ready for immediate use in EPLAN Electric P8. On request, directly based on your submitted basic project with your plot frame and standards.

Requirements and transparency

TECHNICAL NOTE

A prerequisite for AI-supported digitisation is that the PDF schematic pages were originally created in EPLAN. Only then can the AI reliably recognise the IEC symbols and structures and transfer them into an editable EPLAN project.

Individual content such as macros (PLC cards), graphical representations (front views) or handwritten red pencil entries require manual reworking. This is communicated transparently as part of the initial assessment. Further details can be found in the FAQ.

Send enquiry and attach PDF documents

For a well-founded initial assessment, ideally send us the complete PDF schematic pages, but at least 10 to 20 representative pages together with a brief project description. You will receive a prompt assessment of the feasibility and scope of the project.

    Self-service platform (App) in preparation

    IN DEVELOPMENT

We are developing a self-service solution for companies that want to integrate schematic digitisation directly into their own workflow: Upload PDF, start AI digitisation, import results directly into EPLAN - and continue working immediately in your own EPLAN environment.

Ideal for switchgear manufacturers, engineering offices and service providers with EPLAN expertise: Your customer supplies paper documents or PDF scans - instead of days of manual redrawing, our AI does most of the work. You check, add to and refine the result directly in EPLAN. You also edit content that the AI does not yet cover - such as macros, mounting plate views or red pen entries - where you already use your expertise.

The closed beta is aimed at companies that want to test and help shape the process at an early stage - whether as an operator with large documentation inventories or as a service provider with recurring digitisation requirements.

You will be informed as soon as the platform is available.
